Circular knittingis a way to knit without having to sew.
This technique is possible through the use ofcircular needles.

You will enjoy this method for making socks andsweaters.
It has many advantages, including the fact thatsignificantly reduce the weight of the work in progress.

To knit in the round you will need circular needles and amarker ring. This small accessory is placed on the needle, in order tomark the start of the lap.

THE TECHNIQUE

When we knit in the round, we no longer talk about rows, but abouttowers, because we no longer turn the work between two rows.

Slide the marker ring onto the right needle before starting a new round.

Since we always knit on the same side,You must read the diagrams from right to left for all rows.

Here's how to knit the basic stitches in the round:
- For thestockinette stitch, all stitches are knitted on all rows.
- For thegarter stitchwe do one turn right side up and the next one upside down.

THE MAIN ADVANTAGES OF CIRCULAR NEEDLES

Circular needles aresmaller than straight needlesThey don't take up space in a bag, making it easier to carry your work.

No need to knit with the needle under your arm: circular needles have a cable that helps support the weight of the work.Your knitting is lighter!

Circular needlesalso allow you to knit back and forth, as on straight needles.

If you change size, simply unscrew the needles and install the new tips to be used on the cable.
